Paul Dolbec

Paul has been a fly fisherman and fly tier for over 45 years. Originally from New England, Paul found his passion and honed his skills fishing for fresh and saltwater species throughout the Northeast. Paul’s first love is fishing for Atlantic salmon; however, his passion also extends to bonefish and complex trout situations. Paul spent nine years working for L.L. Bean, where he was a lead instructor and coordinator for many of L.L Bean’s “celebrity fly tying” events. On top of this Paul was an instructor for several L.L. Bean schools including, introductory fly fishing, Atlantic salmon, and fly tying. Over his time as an instructor, Paul has developed practical and effective techniques to teach people the overhead and spey cast with both single and two-handed rods. Paul is currently an active member with several clubs and organizations including the FFI, WCFF, SFAOD, PA Fly Fishing Museum, and the Catskill Fly Tiers Guild.
