I run a saltwater fishing charter out of New York and use these rods for snap jigging for striped bass and bucktailing for fluke. Excellent action on these rods and enough back bone to subdue stripers 30lbs and up. My customers love these rods and so do I. Thanks Douglas.

The LRS C704M is a sweet reaction bait rod! Love this rod!!! Think squarebill crankbaits and small-medium diving cranks. Has a soft glass like tip with plenty of spine behind it to penetrate a hook home. It's that true happy medium. Not too soft-not too stiff. Perfect rod for baits with trebles!

This rod is awesome, usually use a baitcaster rod for jerk bait fishing, a Levante F4,5-611LV jerk bait special. I have to say my new LRS rod works as well if not better than the Levante. Great look, well built and light, used it for 4 or 5 hrs and was not exhausted. Got to say the 5-year warranty really makes it nice as well.

The blue blank of the Douglas spinnerbait rod stands out among a field of cookie cutters, but it’s the action and versatility that really sets it apart. Lure ratings on a handle are often generous, but this rod excelled at all ranges of the spectrum—from the smallest finesse spinnerbaits up to hard-thumping giants that’ll rattle your fillings out. It’s a wonderful blend of sensitivity and give with a perfectly-sized handle and premium components from tip to butt. During the test I flicked a 3/16 ounce finesse model around boat slips in the morning, and then used it in the afternoon to slow roll a spinnerbait that weighed ¾ ounce, and in both cases I felt like I had the perfect rod. Everyone that fished the Douglas LRS liked the rod’s perfectly-sized handle, and appreciated the premium components. The Douglas LRS took the best overall award because of its ability to throw everything from finesse to deep working spinnerbaits and it doesn’t sacrifice feel for versatility—it’s a rare rod that fishes everything well.

I have the 6'8" MH XF rod. I use it for my topwater applications such as whopper ploppers and walking/popping baits. I have it paired with a lews hypermag. This is the lightest setup I have ever held. I can cast heavy whopper ploppers all day with no wrist fatigue. The rod is beautifully crafted, and very comfortable in hand. It casts amazing. I can absolutely bomb whopper ploppers and even smaller lighter poppers. It also has great sensitivity after a blow-up to feel if the fish got a hold of the lure or not. I have absolutely no complaints with this rod. If you're looking for a light, sensitive, and comfortable rod then these are a great choice for the price. I also have an LRS spinning rod and fly rod that I love as well. Give Douglas Outdoors a try, you will not be disappointed!

I have written a review on the lrs series fly rods, but I also wanted to say a few words about the lrs conventional rods. I use the LRS S9632M for float fishing steelhead on some of the smaller water in the great lakes. It is a great rod for the smaller stuff where my 11'6 or 13'6 center pin rod may be too cumbersome. It has a nice blend of power to fight fish and softness to protect light leader.

This year for fathers day, I bought my dad the 6103XF rod. I'm not the biggest fisherman myself, but he's been getting more and more into fishing and I wanted to get him a higher quality rod. He said it is one of the best rods he has ever used. I actually got to test it out a little too, and had a good experience.

I have the LRS in the 7'2" and that thing is a work horse. I've never owned a spinning rod quite like this one. I can cast this stick out super far and set the hook hard on big fish with no problem while still enjoying the feel of every piece of grass I run into. I throw everything from wacky rigs to even jerkbaits on this rod and I would definitely put this on top of the list as far as any spinning rods I've ever owned.

I have had Douglas Fly Rods in the past and I can't say enough good things about them! Last year I started doing a lot more bass fishing and this rod has been super reliable and sensitive for me so far. I got the 6'8" medium LRS and I've been using it as a jerk bait rod. I throw jerk baits a lot and especially have been this spring. This rod offers effortless casting and awesome action, not to mention I hardly ever have a fish get off when I set the hook with this rod. All-in-all like I said I can't get enough of this rod and I'm excited to hopefully pick up some more Douglas Fly Rods in the future!

I have been using Douglas rods for 4 years now and I continue to be more impressed all the time! I am a full time guide and tournament angler that logs around 300 days a year on the water. I sought out a rod company that builds equipment to handle that kind of use and I found it with Douglas! These rods are the perfect blend of sensitivity and toughness with a warranty to back it up! There are great multipurpose and technique specific rod models to fit all of your needs. You will not be disappointed!

I have been using douglas rods for almost a year now and have been truly impressed. For casting rods, the LRS 744F has become my go to top water/chatter bait rod and the LRS 745F has become my go to flipping rod. I also have been using the LRS 764 MF as my go to mid/deep crankbait rod. Overall, I have been extremely impressed by how light weight these rods are without compromising the durability. I typically spend 3 days on the water minimum during bass season and I have had issues with the durability of other high end custom rods but I can't seem to break any of my Douglas rods thus far. The sensitivity of these rods is also second to none. I will sometimes flip with the 744F if the bass are being tight lipped and I'm using a smaller presentation. This rod allows me to feel even the lightest bites and helps tell me if I need to change my presentation at all.

I have been using the LRS 6103XF as my primary finesse spinning rod which I normally throw drop shots, ned rigs, and small swimbaits on. This rod is insanely light and comfortable to fish with but also has enough backbone to get the mean smallmouth into the boat. With the extra fast tip, I swear I can even feel when smallmouth "nose" my bait but have not committed yet on those really tough days.

Douglas LRS rods are work horses. I use them for everything!! From California halibut, to pulling plugs for steelhead. Back bouncing roe for salmon to jigging lead for lingcod. What I keep coming back to with these rods is how tuff they are for the price. You can put them through anything and they will preform!

I have the 7' medium fast action. I mainly use it for wacky rigged worms, and weightless Texas rigged plastics. This rod is amazing! I can't say enough how light and sensitive this rod is. When I'm throwing a wacky rig, I like to let it fall on a little bit of slack line, and even with slack I can feel the bites clear as day. I would put this rod in the same category as a St Croix legend tournament rod as far as sensitivity and looks, but $100 cheaper. I also have an LRS fly rod for steelhead, and casting rod that I use for topwater lures. I am extremely satisfied with each rod. Douglas outdoors makes some great rods. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed!
