We are a fishing equipment company founded in 2014, in Upstate, NY. Douglas specializes in manufacturing high-quality fly fishing and conventional rods, reels and a variety of other products. We differentiate ourselves from the competition by earning the reputation as a company that offers exceptional products while maintaining a down-to-earth and approachable personality. We do not sell our products directly to consumers, we sell exclusively through our trusted distributors.

Customer Service & Order Processing

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Previous experience working in a fly shop or tackle shop
  • Needs a strong knowledge of fishing, either fly fishing or conventional
  • Needs a strong knowledge of rods, lines, and reels
  • Basic understanding of order processing and inventory control
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent phone and communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Douglas in a professional manner
  • Learn and become familiar with all Douglas Outdoors products
  • Support sales team
  • Learn and become familiar with using our CRM
  • Process orders as they come in
  • Handle warranty claims
  • Communicate with customers on warranty claims and orders
  • Answer customers’ questions and send additional information per email
  • Keep up with product information and updates
  • Live in the Syracuse area close to Phoenix, NY or willing to relocate

Marketing Specialist
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing social media accounts and developing an annual content calendar
  • Experience planning and promoting events
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Business Suite
  • Excellent analytical skills and a knack for data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary

Requirements:

  • Represent Douglas in a professional manner
  • Passion and experience in bass fishing
  • Knowledge of the fishing industry
  • Live in the Syracuse area close to Phoenix, NY or willing to relocate

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and become familiar with all Douglas Outdoors products
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Manage Douglas Pro Staff, guides, and promotional events
  • Run and manage Douglas bass tournaments (4 events per year).
  • Develop, implement, and track marketing programs such as social media, or digital campaigns, and events
  • Collaborate with other internal teams to develop and monitor strategic marketing initiatives
  • Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of campaigns
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
  • Write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across different mediums
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and products
  • Communicate with sales team

Sales - Conventional
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of sales experience
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of crowds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems

Requirements:

  • Represent Douglas in a professional manner
  • Passion and experience in fishing
  • Knowledge of the fishing industry – especially bass industry
  • Ability to travel frequently, 2 out of 4 weeks a month as well as two weekends a month
  • Flexible schedule
  • Live in the Syracuse area close to Phoenix, NY or willing to relocate

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell Douglas products to new and existing customers
  • Learn and become familiar with all Douglas Outdoors products
  • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing accounts
  • Create and process orders in our CMR
  • Meet and/or exceed sales quotas
  • Attend Douglas demo presentations and trade shows
  • Track customer feedback
  • Submit monthly reports and plans
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and products
