Fly Fishing Sales

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of sales experience
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of crowds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems

Requirements:

  • Represent Douglas in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of the fishing industry, as well as an understanding of fishing techniques and products
  • Ability to travel frequently visiting current and potential accounts
  • Flexible schedule 
  • Live in the Syracuse area close to Phoenix, NY or willing to relocate

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell Douglas products to new and existing customers
  • Learn and become familiar with all Douglas Outdoors products
  • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects
  • Maintain existing accounts
  • Create and process orders
  • Meet and/or exceed sales quotas
  • Attend Douglas demo presentations and trade shows
  • Track customer feedback
  • Submit monthly reports and plans
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and products

Industrial Designer

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about all types of fishing to help us bridge the gap between the art of designing products and point of purchase displays and the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate has a passion for fishing, traveling, adventure and testing new products in the field!

This is a hands-on and in house position. Upon being hired, candidate will be working out of our Phoenix, NY location.

Compensation is based on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Mathematics, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of design experience
  • Proven ability to create specialty products and improve on current designs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Experience working with SolidWorks
  • Proficient in Adobe
  • Experience finishing rods or tying flies is a must 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and create prototype fishing products
  • Work with our Senior Rod Designer to help organize rod design sheets
  • Work with R&D Engineers to ensure rods align with what we are trying to achieve
  • Work with our factories to make sure rods are produced exactly as they were designed
  • Review inventory levels and work with the sales and marketing teams to make sure we have the correct rods in stock for our customers.
  • Learn and become familiar with all Douglas Outdoors products
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and products

Marketing Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing social media accounts and developing an annual content calendar
  • Experience planning and promoting events
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads

  • Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary

  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
  • Write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across different mediums
