Kyle’s go-to rods throughout His Elite Series career have been the Douglas XMatrix: DXC 745F, DXC 746XF, DXS 704F and DXC 684F.
Kyle’s favorite rod is the trusty XMatrix DXC 745F, a versatile tool that rarely leaves his hand. Whether he’s working with frogs, chatterbaits, jigs, or flipping near docks and rocks, this rod is his all-around go-to! It never left his hand during the Bassmaster Classic!
For more challenging situations, such as navigating tight spaces in weeds, Kyle turns to his XMatrix DXC 746XF. He appreciates its compact length and stiffer backbone, which provides the accuracy and power needed for flipping and punching with heavier lures, from 3/4 oz to 1 1/2 oz.
Kyle also relies on the XMatrix DXS 704F when fishing with Neko Rigs and Senkos and DXC 684F when fishing with jerkbaits and crankbaits. These rods feature a more flexible, softer tip, allowing for better hookups. In fact, they were crucial during his Lake Fork tournament, where he landed a giant largemouth bass that subtly took his Senko. A gentle sweep set brought it safely to the boat.
Excited to see what 2025 has in store for Kyle!
