Mellisa Ceren
Colorado Springs, Colorado
Melissa is a fly fishing guide and mental health therapist who is a regular author and media contributor on the subjects of fly fishing education and mental health awareness in the angler community.
She was born in South Carolina and picked up a fly rod as soon as she moved to Colorado. Her first experience fly fishing was with a guide who was less than encouraging. Disheartened, she decided that the sport was not for her. However, she decided to give fly fishing one last shot on a hiking trip to an alpine lake. After landing her first cutthroat trout, she was hooked and has fished every possible moment since. Alpine adventures with her husband Peter, friends, and two dogs continue to be her favorite part of fly fishing.
Now, she utilizes her fishing and guiding experiences to shed light on the overlap of mental health and fly fishing.
